Suddenly, for no apparent or explained reason, the account is labeled “limited” and the money in the Mercari account is not allowed to be transferred to the seller’s account. Mercari was previously able to transfer balances due from Mercari to seller’s account. Mercari refuses to address a problem for a seller trying to collect a payment owed to them. Not all things should be handled in such a black and white manner. I finally told them to "plz stop messaging me"! Can you say #borderlineharrasment? They also continued to email me with their apologies and their "gracious" offer. They've lost a customer for life! I will NEVER do business with them again. Not gonna happen! Really? This is a multi-million-dollar company and they should be ashamed of their selves. To add insult to injury they then bombarded me with emails and their "pennies on the dollar offer" of 10% off on my next purchase of $20+. NO ONE ASKED THEM TO DO THIS! This policy should be changed! Now they're telling me I can't get a refund even though "internally" they rated the purchase on behalf thereby confirm the transaction for payment. The package already had a "Return to Sender" sticker on it, so I returned the package. However, the Seller didn't see it until after the package was shipped. I canceled an order well within the allotted 24 hours. Wish I could select a blacked-out star giving them a negative rating!
For anyone thinking about selling on Mercari, proceed with caution. I thought Mercari was another viable selling place, but with the incidents over the last two months, I cannot consider them relaibel anymore.
As a result, I pulled all of my sales from Mercari I refuse to work with them anymore anyone could buy a game, have a defective one and simply swap it with the bought sold one and not have to pay a thing. Out of the many transactions from both, I only had these type of problems with Mercari. In the last 5 years, I sold and bought on both eBay and Mercari. They did not want to hear that the buyer was scamming me.
I explained my case to Mercari and they sided with the buyer. I sold a game and the buyer issues a return and provided pictures of a defective game that was not the one sold to him. Mercari sided with the seller and would not grant me a refund. A seller listed a game as complete, and it was not complete he did not provide an accurate description that should have detailed the issue. My first complaint is from a few months ago in May 2022.
